Our sanctuary
GROUNDED ROOTS, MAARN, NETHERLANDS
SHAMANIC SOUL ESSENCE RETREAT will take place at Grounded Roots. A beautiful holistic sanctuary, located in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, surrounded by forest and a tranquil lake. Grounded Roots is the perfect sanctuary to step away from daily life and reconnect with yourself and Soul. In the 3000m2 garden, you can relax by the pool, the sauna and enjoy the plunge pool. In the presence of sacredness nature, meeting your Soul be easy-peasy.

Hailey Noa: Soul Shamanic Practitioner, Cacao Ceremonialist, Yoga Teacher, Coach
Hey, I’m Hailey, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: life gets loud—so loud that we forget to listen to the one thing that truly matters… our Soul.
Once upon a time, I was a lawyer in courtrooms, now I’m a guide in ceremonies. I know what it’s like to live a life that looks good on paper but feels out of alignment. My own journey led me from feeling stuck and lost to shamanism, cacao, Soul Purpose and deep Soul work—helping me reconnect with my truth.
Since then, I’ve led thousands of people through ceremonies, sessions, programs, and soul journeys, guiding them back to clarity, purpose, and inner wisdom.
My mission? To connect you to your Soul, so you can find the answers within and remember your path and purpose in life.
The SHAMANIC SOUL ESSENCE RETREAT will do exactly that—it’s a homecoming to yourself. I’d love to guide you on this journey.

Whether you prefer the comfort of sleeping indoors or the magic of sleeping under the stars, I have the perfect space for you!
Inside the sanctuary, there are two cozy bedrooms: one four person room, and one two person room (total of 6 people).
In the garden, there are three tipi tents are fully equipped with electricity and comfy single beds, each accommodating two people for a peaceful night in nature. Shower(s) and toilet(s) are/is shared.

During SHAMANIC SOUL ESSENCE RETREAT, you’ll be treated to a delicious, nourishing plant-based lunch, lovingly prepared by a private chef, Sanne ten Wolde. Prepare to get spoiled with delicious and healthy foods, that fuel your body and soul.
Throughout the day, there will be plenty of snacks, fresh fruit, herbal teas, cacao, and fruit-infused water to keep you refreshed and energized.
Expect food that feels like a warm hug, made with care, and designed to support you on this deeply nourishing journey. Because when you take care of your Soul, your body deserves the same love.

How to prepare for your retreat
Keep this in mind
- Wear comfortable and warm clothes.
- Don’t drink any coffee on the day of the ceremony.
- No alcohol or use drug the day before and on the day of the ceremony.
- Don’t eat anything at least 3 hours before the ceremony.
- You can bring a notebook and pen (and crystals if you like).
- It is not advice to drink cacao if:
- - You’re pregnant
- - Have severe heart problems
- - Are on a high doses of antidepressants that contain MAO
- - Use medication against high blood pressure.
Consult your doctor if you want to join a ceremony but are not sure if this is suitable for you.

No! This retreat is designed for both beginners and those with some experience in shamanic practices. All you need is an open heart and a willingness to explore.

No. This retreat works with shamanic practices such as guided journeys, cacao, nature immersion, and sound healing—not psychedelics. Cacao is the only plant medicine we will work with. Everything we do is safe, grounding, and accessible to all.
The retreat will be in English.
Cacao is a safe plant medicine. It is not a drug or psychedelic, so it won’t make you high or hallucinate.
There are however some contraindications for drinking cacao. It is not advised to drink cacao if:
- Have severe heart problems
- Are on a high doses of antidepressants that contain MAO
- Use medication against high blood pressure.
You can drink cacao while pregnant, but cacao can activate your baby or cause nausea. If you’re not familiar with drinking cacao while pregnant, only take a few sips.
Consult your doctor if you want to join a ceremony but are not sure if this is suitable for you.
To make sure you experience the cacao the best, the following is advised:
- Don’t drink any coffee on the day of the ceremony.
- Don’t eat anything at least 3 hours before the ceremony.
- Don’t drink any alcohol or use drugs the day before and on the day of the ceremony.
After our opening ceremony that is combined with cacao, a shamanic journey and a nature connection, we’ll have a delicious lunch!
The retreat is a balance of deep transformation and relaxation. You’ll have guided sessions, but also plenty of time to integrate, journal, and enjoy nature.
Absolutely! Many participants come alone and leave with deep soul connections and new friendships.
Since all rooms are shared, you’ll be linked to some else who is coming alone if you’ve booked a 2-person room or tipi.
This weekend retreat is open to women only.

- If you cancel after 60 days before the retreat, the full amount is non-refundable.
