When should you simply stick it out and when do you need to change things up?

5 Signs That It’s Time To Make A Change
1. You don’t feel inspired and motivated anymore
If you notice that you’re not inspired and motivated anymore to keep moving forward, then this is a huge sign.
It can even be that you’re aware of this, and each new week you tell yourself that next week will be better. Only to find out that when next week comes, you’re still not motivated or inspired to get into action mode. If you recognize this, then this is a huge sign that it’s time for change!
2. You don’t love what you’re doing
This ties into the first sign, but it goes even deeper than just not being motivated or inspired. If you notice that you don’t love your life/work/business/relationship etc. anymore then you can’t deny that it’s time to make a change.
The only thing is that it does take some courage to say to yourself: ‘look, I have invested lots of time, energy, maybe even money in this, but I just don’t love it anymore’.
This is not an easy thing to always do, but still it is really important.
Also, don’t feel that you need to stick with something if you don’t love it anymore. Will you do something that you don’t love for the rest of your life? Life is really too short for this!
3. You feel a strong urge for a change
This one is undeniable, and obvious. If you long to make a change, then you know what to do.
This can be a clear urge to change, like a voice in your head that is telling you that you need to change jobs for example.
But also be aware of those seemingly innocent urges to change. If you suddenly find yourself wanting to change your clothing style, hair do or interior in the hope to ‘spice things up’ then this can also be a sign.
If your urge for any change is to cover up any feelings of unsatisfaction, discontent or unhappiness, then you know what to do.
4. You feel stuck/fearful/unhappy
Feeling stuck/fearful or simply unhappy shouldn’t be denied. These are great signs that you’re not where you’re supposed to be and that it is time for change.
You deserve to be happy, and feel joyous. If you don’t feel like that, at least the majority of the time, then you know that something NEEDS to change.
5. You’re self-medicating and/or avoiding.
Numbing yourself out or avoiding your reality is a clear sign to. If you find yourself doing things that will distract you from your reality, then you’re falling in this category.
Whether that is Netflix-ing, eating, exercising, drinking, shopping or doing drugs, if you find yourself doing things that will take your mind away from how much you don’t like your reality, then you know you need to change something.
My advice
If you recognize yourself in one or more of these signs, don’t ignore them. Start by being honest with yourself about what is going on, and figure out where you need to be.
Another thing that can help you is answering the question:
If there was no internet or social media, and money and time were no issue, would you still be living the life you’re now living?
If the answer is ‘no’, then you know it’s time to change.
