“I’m not good enough.
And because I’m not good enough, nothing good will ever happen to me.
Good things happen to other people, but not to me.
Because I’m not good enough.”
Good for nothing
Do you recognize this kinda self-talk? I do.
My negative self-talk comes from my childhood. I grew up with a mom who would never miss out on the opportunity to tell me that I was not good enough for her. One of her nicknames for me was ‘good for nothing’.
No wonder I grew up thinking that I wasn’t good enough.

5 tips to overcome the ‘I’m not good enough’-lie
1. Recognize your negative self-talk
Become aware of the moments in which you’re telling yourself that you’re not good enough. By becoming aware of your thoughts, you can start actively changing them. You can let them go.
This awareness will you also help recognize:
(1) wherein your life you have picked up these thoughts and
(2) how they get triggered. Knowing this will help you get rid of them.
2. Stop comparing yourself to others
Chances are that when you compare yourself to others, you’re not going to feel great.
Know that every single person on this planet is more than good enough. Just because someone else is in a different (and better) place than you are, that doesn’t make you less.
3. Start saying daily positive affirmations to yourself
‘I’m not good enough’ is a negative affirmation that you started to believe at some point in your life.
You can change this by saying positive affirmations to yourself daily.
Say positive things like “I AM GOOD ENOUGH” to yourself multiple times a day. Keep doing this until you believe it and feel it in your bones!
4. Journal
Journaling is a great way to release negative energy.
Also, it helps to analyze your thoughts. So whenever you realize that you’re in a negative spiral, grab your journal and start writing down what’s going on.
This will help you get clarity on what it is that you need to do to make yourself feel good again.
5. Daily gratitude
Every day, write down 3 things that you’re grateful for. Those 3 things will be real life proof that good things are happening in your life. These are good things that you’ve manifested, and they show you that you’re amazing!
