Knowing what you want in life is really important because it determines your goals and direction in life. Yet, I often hear clients say that they don’t know what they want. They feel stuck and unhappy in their business or careers, but they don’t know what they want instead. Especially in a world where so much is possible, the options are endless, it’s easy to get stuck in a choice overload.

How To Know What You Want In Life
1. Stop saying that you don’t know what you want
By constantly telling yourself that you don’t know what you want, you’re programming the subconscious mind to find more “not knowing”. This will create even more confusion and unclarity in your life.
Deep down you do know what you want, so start saying that to yourself instead, so that your subconscious mind can find solutions instead of more confusion.
2. Focus on how you want to feel
Focusing on how you want to feel will help you figure out what you want. Do the things that bring you the desired feelings. For example, if you want to change careers and open up a restaurant, first ask yourself how having a restaurant will make you feel. Will it make you feel happy, joyful, and free? Or maybe stressed, overwhelmed, and scared? Base your decision on what will bring you into the feelings that you long for.
The other thing that you can do is first figure out how you want to feel, and find out what situations will make you feel like that. Go after that, because is what you do want.
3. Allow your desires to be there
A reason why many people get stuck on what they want is because they don’t allow their desires to fully be. Maybe your true desire is to move to Bali and start a business from your laptop, but you don’t allow this desire to be there because you have a mortgage, a 9-5 and children.
Suppressing your truest desires will not make you feel good and create confusion. Don’t let your limiting beliefs keep you stuck. Instead, admit what you want, and then find a solution to make it happen.
